At dawn, we set out across rolling savannas where giraffes glide between acacia trees and elephants trumpet in the distance. After lunch, we board a boat for the Nile cruise, floating past basking hippo pods and prehistoric-looking crocodiles to the base of Murchison Falls, where rainbows dance in the mist.
Day 4: To the Rainforest – Journey to Kibale

Day 5: Walking With Chimps – Kibale Forest Magic
At first light, we meet our trackers and enter the emerald cathedral of Kibale Forest. Following chimpanzee calls through thick vines, we suddenly spot movement, a chimp family feeds just meters above us, juveniles tumbling between branches in playful chaos. After lunch, explore the Bigodi Wetlands, home to rare great blue turacos that flash through the trees like flying sapphires.
Day 6: Crossing the Equator – To Queen Elizabeth NP
We journey south, stopping for photos at the Equator line before entering Queen Elizabeth National Park. This afternoon’s game drive reveals elephant herds dust-bathing and Uganda kob males dueling with their curved horns. As the sun sets over the Rwenzori Mountains, we toast to the adventures ahead.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking – A Life-Changing Encounter
Entering Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the air cools and thickens with moisture. This UNESCO World Heritage Site shelters half the world’s mountain gorillas. At UWA Headquarters, trackers brief us on trek while fireflies sparkle in the forest beyond.

Dawn mist swirls as we hike through steep, vine-tangled trails. Then… movement in the foliage. A silverback emerges, his wise eyes meeting ours.
