Detailed Itinerary 13 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport

Upon arrival, you will be required to take the covid-19 tests as required by the Ugandan government and CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) to ensure your health safety in the county. Your designated driver will later transfer you to your booked hotel for relaxation. After checking in, our company representative will later meet you for a briefing about your 13 days Uganda exclusive wildlife safari.

Accommodation at 2friends hotel, Karibu Guest House, Protea hotel on Full board meal basis.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison falls National Park.

After an early breakfast, your guide /driver will pick you at exactly 7:00 am and you will commence for Murchison Falls National park which takes a 6-7 hour drive. Have a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Lowery to sight the beautiful white and black Rhinos. A second stop over at Masindi for lunch as you proceed to the national park to visit the top of the falls. The park offers different bird species that will be seen and mammals like Crocodiles, Hippos, etc.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Game Drive

After an early breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive that normally takes up to 4 hours sighting beautiful animals like antelopes, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, lions, among others. At around 11:45 am – 12:00 am you will go back to the lodge relax a bit, have lunch as you prepare for the boat ride that will cross you to the top of the falls for sighting the Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, colored kingfisher, waterbucks, warthogs, and many more mammals and birds.

After the boat cruise, you will be transferred back to the lodge for refreshment, dinner, and rest thereafter.

Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kibale Forest

After having an early breakfast, drive through the park again as you head to Kibale National Park. Enjoy the scenic drive as you will see the great Lake Albert, Rwenzori ranges, Kibale forest that’s well known as habitant for the cute chimpanzees. The drive approximates to 10hours.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking – Kibale National Park

Have an early breakfast as you prepare for the morning Chimps Trek. Your designated driver will later transfer you to that UWA office which is the starting point for briefing.

In the afternoon, visit the Bigodi swamp where you will view abundant butterflies, plants, animals, and spectacular birds like Great Blue Turaco among others.

Day 6: Kibale Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will catch the evening game drive for wildlife sightings. Explore the main game tracks of the Kasenyi Plains which are the main mating grounds of many antelopes and thus a favorite hunting ground for cats such as the Lions and Hyenas. Kasenyi plains boost several wild animals and offer opportunities for you to witness big cats as well as other animals like elephants, buffaloes, and others.  From lunch transfer to the Mweya peninsula for a two hours boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which is filled with plenty of wildlife. You shall observe at a very close distance animals such as hippos, buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, kobs, monitor lizards. Over 100 species of birds flock to the channel such as Harmerkops, Ibis, Fish Eagles, Skimmers, Egrets, Pelicans, and Herons among others. You will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Games Drives – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have an early breakfast and set off for a morning game drive along the Queen’s Mile plus the Kasenyi trail. On this trail, you will see elephants, waterbucks, lions, buffaloes, Uganda Kobs plus warthogs in addition to several birds. Return for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2 hours boat ride on the Kazinga Channel where you will encounter Buffaloes, Elephants, Hippos, kobs plus warthogs among others. This ride will also enable you to see an array of birds then proceed to your accommodation for rest.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Start the day with an early breakfast as you prepare to proceed to the Bwindi Forests. Passing through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park will give you the last eye catch on the various animals and bird species including the tree-climbing lions. The journey takes approximately 5-6 hours of drive.

Day 9: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After having an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the national park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and the don’ts while with the Gorillas. By 7:45 am – 8:00 am, you will commence hiking the mountains in search of the Gorillas. Packed lunch and bottled mineral water will be provided.

After a successful gorilla trekking, you can either relax at the lodge memorizing the beautiful experience, or drive up the hill to the top of the world to have a beautiful view of the mountains with entertainment from the Batwa people.

Day 10: Hike and Canoe across Lake Mutanda.

After having breakfast, you will take a walk passing through the community that helps you discover the nature and lifestyle the Batwa people adopted after being removed from the forest. The walk can take 2-3 hours with a beautiful canoe ride on Lake Mutanda. Blacksmith activity that brings out the magic of the early Stone Age and visits the Batwa and Bakiga traditional doctors can be an optional activity to be done.

Day 11 Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park where we shall catch the boat trip on the lake in the afternoon. Different mammals will be seen like the hippos, crocodiles, water birds like the rare African finfoot, and the African fish eagle. Animals that gather for drinking water like the antelopes, buffaloes, impalas, shall be seen too.

Day 12: Lake Mburo National Park – Entebbe

Enjoy a break of down morning savanna game drive around the park and meet up-close some of Africa’s big game animals and get back to the lodge just in time for breakfast.

After breakfast, with your ranger guide walk down into the park on foot for a nature walk and a canoe ride on Lake Mburo. You’ll be back at the lodge in time for lunch. After lunch enjoy another walk around the lodge till late in the evening as you view a golden sunset on the horizons of Africa.

Day 13: Transfer back to Entebbe

After having breakfast, we drive but to Entebbe with a stopover at the Equator for photos. Transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
