Detailed Itinerary of your 1 day Kampala City Tour Uganda

Start your Kampala city excursion with our professional tour guide after breakfast at your hotel or place of home. The main focus areas include a visit to the Uganda Museum and National Theater, where you may learn about Uganda’s unique local art and crafts from other cultures.

After a brief tour of the museum, proceed to the Baha’i Temple (located on Kikaaya Hill), Africa’s only temple, then drive through Makerere University, Uganda’s oldest and one of the greatest campuses on the continent.

After lunch, go to Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and burial site for Buganda’s Kings/Kabakas. Your next stop will be Namugongo Shrine, where the Uganda Martyrs were burned by Kabaka Mwanga for their love of Christianity, and where celebrations are held every 3rd of June to remember those who died.

Drive to Kabaka’s Lake after your visit to Namugongo Shrine, a man-made lake that is not only rich in Buganda’s cultures but also in a diversity of species, making it an excellent bird viewing destination. If time permits, you can enjoy the best of Kampala’s nightlife or go to the Ndere Cultural Centre to see wonderful traditional dances and music performances.

Extending your stay in Kampala on a Uganda tour allows you to visit a variety of other tourist attractions such as Namirembe Cathedral, Rubaga Catholic Cathedral, Kabaka’s Palace, Owino Market, Gadaffi Mosque, and more.
